What happens during a session?

Each occupational therapy session varies according to the patient's condition.

A typical occupational therapy session takes up to 60 minutes, inclusive of assessment of patient’s conditions.

 

Occupational therapy treatments involve:

  • Teaching your parents to carry out simple daily tasks independently

  • Teaching your parents techniques to properly care for their joints and muscles

  • Prescription of assistive equipment, aids and appliances to suit your parent's needs and condition

  • Advise and recommend home modifications to ensure safety and accessibility

  • are not as mobile after a fall or accident,
  • are experiencing weakness or poor sense of balance,

  • have health conditions that affect their independence, mobility and ability to carry out activities of daily living,

  • such health conditions commonly include:​

    • cancer,

    • neurological (stroke, Parkinson's, sclerosis, Alzheimer's),

    • heart and lung conditions,

    • arthritis,

Are your sessions home-based or centre-based?

​Our sessions are typically conducted at home. However, we do work with partners for centre-based sessions, should it be preferred.

How do I prepare and what can I expect for my first appointment?

​Do make a list of your symptoms, medications, previous surgeries, medical reports if applicable, and discuss these points with your therapist at your first session. A personalized treatment and management program will be proposed and discussed.

How long does it typically take for a occupational therapy session?

How much does a session cost?

A session costs $175.

How many treatment sessions would I need?

The number of sessions will depend on the condition of the patient and will be proposed after the first appointment.

What are my payment options?

Payment can be made by cheque, direct bank transfer or credit card (additional 2.7% charge)

What if I have to cancel the therapy session?

Please call and notify us as soon as possible if you are not able to keep your appointment. We do require a minimum of 24 hours’ notice prior to appointment. Appointment not cancelled at least 24 hours in advance will incur a S$50 charge.
